3LPE Coated Steel Pipe (Three-layer Polyethylene Coating) features a multi-layer external coating system designed to protect steel pipelines from corrosion and mechanical damage. The coating structure combines an epoxy base layer, an adhesive intermediate layer, and a polyethylene outer layer to create a durable protective barrier.
The coating system typically consists of three layers. The first layer is Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), which bonds directly to the steel surface and provides primary corrosion protection. The second layer is an adhesive copolymer that bonds the epoxy layer to the polyethylene top layer. The third layer is a polyethylene outer coating, providing mechanical strength and additional protection against environmental damage.
This multi-layer coating structure provides strong adhesion to the pipe surface while maintaining resistance to impact, abrasion, and soil stress conditions. The coating system helps extend pipeline service life by protecting the steel substrate from external corrosion.
3LPE coated pipes can be manufactured in various diameters and wall thicknesses depending on project requirements and are supplied according to relevant pipeline coating standards.
